Taste your way along the Bend Ale Trail for some brew-tastic adventures! That’s our recommendation for a fabulous and flavorful fall.
We guzzle our way through fourteen different breweries in just more than a month during October 2018, and we gained only two or three pounds, even with all the great pub grub we washed down.
Sightseeing along the trail is as much fun sampling, by the way, for brewery owners take pride in creating truly artful and unique establishments. Owners of the older and more popular breweries obviously invested lots of money in custom fixtures, while others show more crafty, do-it-yourself creativity.
Three breweries earned return visits, one for Stu’s fish and chips, and one brewed a stout we rated as high as our favorite, which is also crafted in Bend. So, just in case you wonder, our two all-time favorite stouts in the USA, are Deschutes Brewing Obsidian Stout and Worthy Brewing Lights Out Stout.
Worthy Brewing was our favorite stop for both pub and grub fare, 10 Barrel had lots of eye candy, and well, just check out the pics and the map. We mentioned a little about the beers and/or food at each location on the map. Tap or click your way to adventure! Worthy Brewing, a New Fave!
Walking off all that beer can be a blast, especially with nearby attractions like Smith Rock State Park, touted as one of the seven wonders of Oregon. Pack a lunch and plenty of water if you go! Oh, and a camera with a good zoom would help one see all the climbers scurry about, like ants on a hill.
