The Cross of St. George flag snaps in the wind above the Elizabeth II at at Roanoke Island Festival Park. She’s modeled after late 16th Century English merchant vessels. Not pictured are sailors in period costumes who eagerly bring history alive when asked questions. Dead men tell no tales ye mateys, so give ’em a chance to shiver your timbers with lots of questions!
